DO YOU KNOW??

If a statue in the park of a person on a horse has both front legs in the air, the person died in a battle; if the horse has one front leg in the air,the person died as a result of wounds recieved in battle; if the horse has all four legs on the ground, the person died of natural causes.

Do you have facebook Addiction Disorder???

Do you have Facebook Addiction Disorder? A few experts think around 350 million people do.
All Facebook offers the following checklist to check your Facebook addiction level:
    1. Instead of jonesing for coffee first in the morning, do you instead start your day with your laptop — or your smartphone — in order to log on to Facebook?
    2. Do you find yourself fantasizing about composing that next great Facebook status update every time you and your partner are in the throes of romance?
    3. Has your child’s preschool teacher issued you a final warning because of far too many late pickups which is attributed to your inability to tear away from a Facebook page?
    4. Do your Facebook friends have to know every time you go to the bathroom and what you’ve produced?
    5. Is your only mode of communication with your husband or kids via Facebook?
    6. Have you enrolled in a costly photography course so that your Facebook pics become the talk of your circle?
    7. Have you resorted to paying off strangers to become your Facebook friend so that your number defies all logic?
    8. Do you retain the services of a private investigator whenever you fail to find a long lost friend on Facebook?
    9. Whenever you fight with your significant other do you feel compelled to change your Facebook relationship status?
    10. Did you quit your job because your employer put a halt on all internet activities within the company?
    11. Has your Facebook addiction resulted in your resembling one of the “Twilight” vampires because you haven’t seen the light of day since the year of the flood?
    12. Have you become a mute since you no longer have to use speech to communicate on Facebook?
    13. Have you had your eyelids Crazy Glued to remain wide open, so that sleep never sets in to interrupt your Facebook time?  Or better yet, do you keep smelling salts next to you at all times as you peck away on your computer?
If you answered 'Yes' to at least one, you're proabably addicted. Luckily, it doesn't seem to be a very serious problem... yet. So you should probably just update your status message with something like "Hey, I'm addicted to Facebook, and if you're reading this, you probably are too."

    You Get What You Give...

    Wake up kids
    We've got the dreamers disease
Age 14 we got you down on your knees
So polite, you're busy still saying please
Fri - enemies, who when you're down ain't your friend
Every night we smash their Mercedes - Benz
First we run and then we laugh till we cry
But when the night is falling
And you cannot find the light
If you feel your dream is dying
    Hold tight
You've got the music in you
    Don't let go
You've got the music in you
    One dance left
This world is gonna pull through
    Don't give up
You've got a reason to live
Can't forget you only get what you give
Four a. m. we ran a miracle mile
Were flat broke but hey we do it in style
    The bad rich
God's flying in for your trial

This whole damn world can fall apart
You'll be ok follow your heart
    You're in harms way
    I'm right behind
    Now say youre mine

It’s the ending theme of Click which is how I first knew about it. This song is an international hit and has been played over 1 million times on US radio.

At its core, this song is about being true to yourself in a world where everyone tries to be someone he/she isn’t. Don’t you ever, ever give up on yourself or your dreams, because you have what it takes to achieve what you want.

    Corruption is addiction....

Shri Anna Hazare with his 152 supporters is on fast unto death at Jantar-Mantar in New Delhi demanding greater public role in the Anti-corruption bill. I have been hearing to so many debates since yesterday on various news channels and was surprised to know the entire background. Its again the same old politician versus common man war. While there is a draft of Anti-corruption bill (popularly known as Lokpal Bill) which has been prepared by social activists, legal advisors and NGOs which ensures rapid action on anyone found guilty of corruption irrespective of his post or status (it actually involves Prime Minister and Judges also), government want to implement it with some changes. These changes are not minor; actually they ensure the complete political intervention which washes away the basic spirit of the bill.

    Corruption eats reforms
We all know that we're going through the most corrupt times. with Rajas and Kalmadis becoming a phrase for corruption and corrupts, I need not provide any statistics to prove it as well! In fact any statistics will not be sufficient enough to draw the horrible picture of the country today. We have been talking about the need of a revolution in India since long. This debate became more intense with revolutions in middle-east and gulf countries. Of course in our case its not against any specific person or family but it is against the entire process. Naturally, it cannot follow the traditional violent way of revolutions and new methods need to be devised. Shri Anna Hazare has devised one and now the part lies on us, the common man, to take it forward.

This is high time friends, we have a leader; a selfless leader who has devoted his entire life for the good of society. Let us all support him in this noble cause.Off course we all cant go for hunger strike but atleast we can spread the word...we can go to places where the support activities are being held...

Be a indian...Support you country...support your leader...We all want a corruption free India..

Can Delhi Be Ever Safe for Women...

The periodic incidents of crime against women are brought to light (thanks to the hounding media!) and then goes into oblivion as our content thirsty journalism fends another 'BREAKING NEWS' to rise its TRP. But where do we Delhi women stand ?...We are left as unsafe and as unsecured as we were from decades (if we may say)

Being the capital city of India and the city with the maximum security systems, why can't women in Delhi go out on the streets with pride and dignity. Why do we always have to be scared of the 'unseen' danger stalking us?

Can we offer a better life to our daughters where they can have the freedom and empowerment to live a graceful life instead of always leading life timidly and with everyone cautioning...YOU'RE A GIRL..YOU SHOULD NOT DO THIS...AND SHOULD NOT GO THERE...

Into the Silence of My Being

As I delve into the silence of my being,
    allow me to see Your love;
the kind of love that never fails to supply me joy,
a love that could replace all my despair with happiness

Your love that could help me see the beauty of things
so I can handle each disappointment and pain with grace
Your love that gives me strength and peace
despite of all my worries and fears

    Your love that comforts my weary heart;
I know this broken road will lead me to a better scenery
Your love that makes me shine, sparkle, bloom, glow...
You're holding my hand as I walk this journey

As I delve into the silence of my being,
Lord, envelope me with Your love

Tune Meri Jaana Rohan Rathore: Unethical or Intelligent Marketing?

Rohan Rathore an IIT Guwahati student, was suffering from terminal cancer and was deeply in love with a girl, Supriya. But unfortunately she did not reciprocate back as she did not have any feelings for him. As one last attempt to woo her, he composed a song : Tune Meri Jaana (Emptiness) Song and recorded it. 15 days after the recording, Rohan Rathore died. The song however remains as testimonial of his deep love.

Ok. Do not go and grab the tissue papers just as yet.  The dramatic story was actually a drama and was just used to get viral publicity for the song and to create an emotional connect with a song by providing a background to it.

The results obviously were fantastic. The song Tune Meri Jaana (Emptiness) became one of the most shared songs of Facebook.Youtube videos views go into millions.

So the marketing ploy was zero cost and extremely successful but was this way of marketing the song actually unethical or was it intelligent? According to me, the marketing ploy although bordering on the ethical/unethical margin was infact a very intelligent one.

For one, the song as of now is being circulated  for free and there are no monetary gains for the composers. The only aim of the Rohan Rathore story was to create a back ground for the song which users could relate to. As the composers of the song did not have enough money to produce a music video for the song, they created a background story and left the rest to the audience imagination. A very effective and intelligent strategy indeed.

The question is nonetheless debatable but there is no doubt that the song is absolutely awesome, filled with pain reflected in the lyrics and the music. You can download the Tune Meri Jaana Song from here.

    Life is beautiful...

There are lots of beautiful things around us. It's just a matter of how we see it and whether we're able to realize it. In life, of course there are always some ups and downs. However, I believe, that even in the most difficult situation, there's always a beautiful thing.. As wise people say, "Everything happens for a reason".
Yup...just go with the flow of your life....and njoy!!

Talking about this...I am recalling the beautiful lines of the song...

    What a WONDERFUL World!
I see trees of green, red roses too…
I see them bloom for me and you…
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

    Student's Fight for Justice....

Radhika Tanwar, a DU student, was shot dead on March 08, while she was crossing the foot over-bridge near Satya Niketan. Radhika, who took a bullet on her spinal cord below her neck, collapsed and died within minutes. For a shocked minute, nobody reacted. A beat police constable, Sanoj Kumar, and one of Radhika’s college mates, Aditya Singh were the first ones to react. While Aditya tried to chase the assailant, the police constable stopped a three-wheeler. Radhika was rushed to the nearby Safdarjung Hospital, where she was declared brought dead.

Hundreds of students of the Delhi University staged a protest on Wednesday against the murder of the second-year Bachelor of Arts (BA) student Radhika Tanwar outside Ram Lal Anand College.
“I feel shameful of the people who have been just walking down here and just being spectator here and doing nothing,” said a protester.

During the protests, students blocked traffic near Delhi University north campus besides burning the effigy of crime. A number of students participated in the protest. Meanwhile Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit rued the indifferent attitude of the passers-by when Radhika was shot dead and asked the civil society to speak up and not remain mute spectators to such incidents.

Guzaarish-A Movie which I can Never Forget....

Today i again experienced the same magic of the Movie 'Guzaarish' as i did when i saw this movie first day first show last year.So i just thought to share what i feel about the movie.

Guzaarish is a simple and honest film. It touched my heart & soul and i am sure i touched yours even.It is a movie which really makes you appreciate life more, and you’ll say Hey“Hey, admist of all the drama, tragedy , enemies i have in my life- it’s ok. Life is still good, and you move on from there”.

Guzaarish is a film you’ll cherish in time to come. It makes you think twice on how you want to spend your time given in this world. What’s done is done. You don’t look back and you hope for the best. So cry a little, laugh a lot and bring your loved ones to watch Guzaarish if they haven't.They are truely missing something very beautiful and pure.

The lyrics of the songs of the movie  were exceptionally beautiful and meaningful. Like in the song  "Sau Gram Zindagi".The picturisation of the song when the singer expresses how life is sweet and spicy, real or fake,he has to spent 100 grams of the life very carefully as the life is too short and that itself put me to tears.I dont even remember how many times i cried in the movie.I loved the Movie.
Let me end by saying a line from the movie...

“Life is short, break the rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably, and never regret anything that made you smile.” – Ethan Mascheranus

A click is all you need..

Today, the mobile phones have become a single device for performing various functions, thus eliminating the need for carrying different gadgets. Now our phones not just serve the purpose of calling, instead they can now be used as a music system or digital camera.

To add to this, hutch launched the live search facility where with just one click the hutch users can have access to enormous information of almost anything and everything. To show this, the ad which has been created by the advertising agency is totally successful in giving the intended message to the audiences.

The ad is mysterious in the beginning and as it ends its real meaning comes out.The person is shown searching the word Eskimo and the Eskimos come right in front of the person..Funny but very creative.

    'Change' got a new definition

This is indeed yet another hilarious ad by camelin and it gave a new definition to the word 'Change'..

In India, the word 'change' is used for coins or smaller denominations..which is beautifully shown in this ad where the director of the company asks for change in the company and the super-intelligent employees of the worker take it as 'Change' and they literally start taking out change from their pockets..The word 'change-meaning loose coins' is so common with everyone that even the peon understands it and takes out change..

The pun that has been used by the advertising agency in the ad is really effective and and creates an impact..This ad won a lot of awards for this and no doubt they well deserve it.

    Talking is Priceless...

Initially when the Telecom sector was open for private players..there was a time when there Incoming charges also. But as the competition grew in this sector when many private players came and joined the race of becoming the most cost effective network..Virgin who is a recent player came up with this scheme of 'Across Network'..

In this ad,Virgin talks about its scheme of low cost for calling not only to its own network but to all the other networks.Talking about the treatment of the ad..according to me,The virgin mobile always come up with creative and 'Hatke' ads..

This ad is also humorously dealt making it easy for the boys to talk to their girlfriends with different 'Networks'..thereby making talking priceless...

It is better to ask Than Distinguish...

HIV-AIDS has become a stigma in the society where the people affected by AIDS are discriminated at all levels. They are ignored and shunned by not only society but also by their own families.AIDS stigma and discrimation not only exists in India but all over the world.

And due to this, the people suffering from or people who also want to know something about this deadly disease hesistate to ask.And this reluctant behavior by people is taking this disease to become a epidemic where more and more people are becoming affecting by this because of little and no knowledge.

To combat this problem to some extent, the Heroes project star care came up with-Ask.com as a portal where people can ask their problems and get information about HIV AIDS.This ad with this message is humorously dealt.

The ad very creatively spreads the message of asking all the information about AIDS by with just an sms..

    Who Says Nothing stays Forever...

Camelin Marker – Vermillion ad entertained me a lot from the first time I saw it to every now and then when I see it.It has won hell lot of awards, both in house and outside but more than that it for sure has helped the brand in its branding and sales…

It opens with the information that in India, vermillion, bangles and a locket are signs of a married woman, and that when a woman loses her husband, she is stripped of these symbols. The husband applies vermillion to a wife’s forehead daily as it is supposed to be connected to his lifeline.

Right from that opening note to the rudalis (professional mourners) who were waiting for the man to die to the man who dies and then comes back are awesome in their expressions. And then the flash back which says why and how the vermillion got fixed there and then the man’s dramatic come back..

The concept is so Indianised and the execution is brilliant... Everyone from the miserable deadpan expression, makes the start look like an award film but in the end one can’t help but laugh. A serious situation is turned around with such ease and the climax makes you laugh.

This ad is surely one of the best Indian Commercials and indirectly moves you away from the old adage which says Nothing stays forever...If You think still the same..use a Camelin marker. Its really Permanent!!!:-)

    Khassi Ka Ilaaz,Glycodin ke Paas...

"Uhu-Uhu" thats the word which comes in mind whenever i think of this amazing Glycodin advertisement..The ad has been made very smartly by the advertising agency where the agency has kept the right proportion of humour in the ad with a clear and direct message.

The brief of the ad is very clear where the message of 'Instant relief from Cough' is made clear to the audience with a generous dose of humour kept to attract the viewers and which according to me..the agency definitely succeeded in attracting attention.

The brand image of Glycodin of giving instant relief from cough is very well sent to the audience with the tag line 'Khassi ki chutti' and is well expressed where the Baba instantly gets relief from the cough and is stopped from keeping "Uhu-Uhu" name of another child who is the son of the person whose name baba kept 'Uhu-Uhu' earlier because he was not given Glycodin..Funny but very smartly thought and executed.

This ad has got many awards in the past and which i guess they truely deserve.

Corruption-A way of life in India

Corruption-a word which is known and familiar with everyone.A word which needs no definition. It is global phenomenon and it is omnipresent. It has reached every walk of life.We are ranked 74th among 180 countries of the world on the worldwide Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI), prepared by independent international agency Transparency International. But i am afraid the conditions which are prevailing these days..We will soon become leaders in Corruption.

The country is stuck with scams. Everyday a new scam surfaces involving politicians, bureaucrats, corporates.2010 can be defiantly calledthe season of scams.Scams like 2G Scam,Satyam Scam,CWG Scam etc. were the biggest and most damaging to the country and its citizens alike.

But when all this is going to end??Are we born with live with corruption??Are we born to accept it for the rest of our lives??Is there a possibility of seeing a corruption free India during our lifetime.?These and many questions like this my mind keeps asking but unfortunately there is no one to answer them..
Wantingly or unwantingly..Corruption has definitely become a way of life for Indians.I am afraid but if nothing is done to combat the prevailing scenario..soon the name of 'India' will be used to explain corruption.

    Doing NOTHING...

Sure, we all know how to do nothing. We all know how to lay around and waste time. But many of us are too busy to do it much in today's busy life but are you sure that when you are doing nothing..you are actually doing 'NOTHING'.
According to me..the answer is NO.Even when we are sitting idle..our mind is definitely working. Our mind takes us to the roller coaster ride of  different thoughts and ideas..where our mind makes us think anything and everything.we think about our fantasies, mistakes, our life and everything...
But don't you think..Your mind needs rest.It really does need it.Doing nothing can be a waste of time for some but for some it can be an art form. You can improve your life, melt away the stress and make yourself more productive when you actually do work that when you do Nothing.
Sooo..next time when you physically do nothing..try being mentally doing nothing..give rest to your mind, breathe well, relax your body and mind,Feel the beauty around you..feel how beautiful your life is...and if properly followed this can relax you very well and will make your 'Doing Nothing' time of your day well spent.

Just ONE day for your Love?

So, the time has come... its the time of the year the couples all over the world have been waiting for.. 14th February-The so called "Day Of Love" is coming! :D

People all around me are going crazy.. Not just the couples, but everyone. The celebrations have already started. Not just 'valentine's day' on 14th Feb, but people are also celebrating days associated with the V-day - days like hug day, chocolate day, teddy day, promise day, this day, that day and god knows which which day :O.

But the question is, do we really need this day? Do we really need a special day to celebrate an emotion like
     love?

In my opinion, we don't. The reason is simple. Love should be celebrated everyday. For people in love, everyday is a valentine's day. People who are really into each other don't require any special day of the year to express their feelings to their better half. They do it everyday, through their actions - not materialistic gifts.Love can be celebrated evry moment, every minute and every day...

Also, I see people buying gifts for their loved ones on this day. Big, expensive gifts. But I would like to ask - how much does love cost?  Does gifting a watch worth Rs. 10,000 to your loved ones show your love towards them or does it show off your/your dad's wealth? I think the latter is true.D
oes a materialistic thing like a watch has any emotional value attached with it?I don't think so..

I don't hate this day. I enjoy it as much as others do. But, definitely i would don't just wait for '14th February' to tell him/her..How much you love them.Make them special every day and make them feel loved atleast not only by materialistic love.Love is much beyond gifts.

    Cricket Mania

There are very few things in India which are not affected by the recent economic slowdown or recession or meltdown, occurrence of natural disasters or any man-made tragedies. They go on for ever. Other than Bollywood and Politics, one such thing is Cricket.

People here in India are just crazy about it. They might even not be knowing the names of the players playing for the national teams of other sports such as hockey, football or basketball etc. but can easily give you the full description of every cricketer playing in national team with all the brief statistics related to him. Such is the madness for the sport down here.

In our country...For some people cricket is like their religion. The cricketers are worshiped like Gods if they play well but the agony is they are also criticized a lot when they don't perform and loose matches.Strange but true.

And when the World Cup is round the corner...every person of the country awaits the fun and excitement of the Cricket World Cup.The Cricket World Cup 2011 starts from 19th February.This time the world is co-hosted by three Asian countries that are-India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

There is cricket and cricket everywhere these days. The news channels are busy taking interview's of cricketers, showing various pros and cons of the cricket team and what not; the advertisements are totally world cup targeted like"Helicopter shot-Pepsi","Lays-Cricket world cup flavours" etc...In a way cricket is on everybody's nerves these days.

Sooo..lets up that this tym the history repeats and India gets hold of the much awaited World Cup trophy for itself.

Marriages are made in HEAVEN but celebrated on EARTH..

Marriage is one of the most celebrated and talked about relationships, at least in country like India it is.Since the ancient times, marriages have been celebrated as ceremonious occasions, just like the religious festivals, wherein a number of rituals and customs are followed.

Marriages are the best way when the complete family comes together and celebrate the auspicious wedding festival full of joy and zeal.It is a dream of every person to have a Fairy tale wedding with their soulmate who according to old belief are made in Heaven.

So much money is involved so many people are involved. This involvement results into the glittering occasion..the hush hush, the loud music, the panic, the bride desire to look her best, the groom grooming himself for the best to come, people are dressed in their best attires and the latest jewellery in style, the magnificent dance and music sessions, the mouthwatering food stalls-all add to the beauty of the dream come true.

It is a miracle at the end of it all, its all mind blowing.I love everything about wedding and when such a festival is about to be celebrated in your own family..the joy becomes double. Its festive time in my Family as my cousin Sister is getting married in February.Loving this time of enormous fun and all day shopping in markets.Enjoying these days and i hope the coming days bring a lot of good memories to cherish for the rest of our lives.
